FAQ
What is the difference between Bacto Blend and Bacto Therapy?
Bacto Blend is our all-rounder with the highest variety of bacterial strains. It includes special phototrophic bacteria that ensure stable and highly effective nutrient breakdown. All our bacteria are sourced from German facilities and are safe to use.
Bacto Therapy, on the other hand, is a mix of specific bacteria focusing more on breaking down solid nutrients like sludge and detritus. It combats unwanted films and bacteria (e.g., cyanobacteria). It can also be used against dinoflagellates.
Additionally, added probiotic bacterial cultures reduce water odor and pathogenic germs, enhancing the resilience of your livestock.
Can I use Bacto Blend and a href=https://faunamarincorals.de/en/Bacto-Therapy/14175-VH" target=_blankrel=noreferrer noopenerBacto Therapy/a together?
Both products complement each other perfectly and are designed to work together. The recommended mixing ratio is 60% Bacto Blend and 40% Bacto Therapy.
Can I use Bacto Blend together with a href=https://faunamarincorals.de/en/Coral-Vitality/14200-VH" target=_blankrel=noreferrer noopenerCoral Vitality/a?
Yes! Both products work well together. They support nutrient limitation and the feeding of bacteria and corals. When combining the two products, use only 50% of the recommended dosage for each and monitor nutrient levels.
Do I need to turn off UV-C or ozone systems when dosing Bacto Blend?
Yes! Both devices impact the bacterial count in the water and would kill the live bacteria in Bacto Blend. Turn off ozone and UV-C systems for 2-3 hours after dosing. By then, the bacteria will have settled on the substrate, and there will be no further risk to them or the effectiveness of Bacto Blend.
What time of day should I dose Bacto Blend?
Bacto Blend, as well as Bacto Therapy or their combined use, can be dosed during the day. We recommend dosing both products in the morning.
