Baktoplan is a new type of preparation that contains a large number of special bacteria that establish themselves especially in the filter but also on surfaces in the aquarium or pond, such as B. These special bacteria from different strains such as Pseudomonas, Xanthomonas, Arthrobacter, Bacillus licheni, Aormis and Micrococcus ensure an immediate growth of a biological lawn culture, which gives the filter a stable biological structure. A common problem in isolated aqueous systems such as aquariums and ponds is the removal of substances that are toxic to fish such as ammonium and nitrite, as well as ammonia at high pH values. This problem occurs not only with new installations, but also with a major water change, filter cleaning, after the use of medication, when large amounts of organic organisms such as corals die. Also in the case of overcrowding, overfeeding of overloaded filters and in ponds due to too high water temperature and after the winter break. Therefore, Baktoplan should be used in all of these aspects in order to create a biological balance. Nitrosomonas and nitrobacter strains ensure a quick and safe conversion of ammonium / ammonia to nitrate that is toxic to fish. The harmonization of the individual metabolic activities, if properly and regularly added, means that nitrite as an intermediate product usually cannot be measured in water.
