The Phosphate Low Range Checker® HC Calibration Check Set – HI-713-11 provides a simple solution to validating the Phosphate Low Range Checker® HC – HI-713 in the range of 0.00 to 2.50 ppm (mg/L). The HI-713-11 is a calibration checking set for the HI-713 phosphate Checker. This set is a single use calibration only. Hanna optional Checker HC Calibration Sets provide a simple solution to validating your Checker HC. Each high quality set of standards is manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility and comes supplied with a Certificate of Analysis. HI-713-11 is a high-quality set of calibration standards that allows users to validate the Phosphate Low Range Checker® HC – HI-713. The HI-713-11 includes one sealed cuvette for zero ppm phosphate and one single-use standard cuvette that becomes tinted to an equivalent 1.00 +/- 0.08 ppm phosphate sample @ 25°C when the supplied reagent is added. The calibration check set is produced using reagent grade chemicals in a temperature controlled environment. Tip for an accurate measurement It is important that the sample does not contain any debris. Whenever the cuvette is placed into the measurement cell, it must be dry outside and completely free of fingerprints, oil or dirt. Wipe it thoroughly with HI-731318 or a lint-free cloth prior to insertion. Shaking the cuvette can generate bubbles, causing higher readings. To obtain accurate measurements, remove such bubbles by swirling or by gently tapping the cuvette. Do not let the reacted sample stand for too long after reagent is added, or accuracy will be lost. After the reading, it is important to discard the sample immediately, otherwise the glass might become permanently stained. The Ascorbic Acid Method These reagents follow the Ascorbic Acid Method in which the reaction between phosphate and reagent causes a blue tint in the sample. By simply adding the packet of HI-713-25 reagent to the sample, the reaction will take place and the HI-713 will determine the concentration from the colour that is produced. The results will be displayed in ppm (mg/L) of phosphate. These reagents are designed to be used with samples that have an expected range of 0.00 to 2.50 ppm phosphate.
